Gildemeister GM-16 Multispindle Department

We operate a range of multispindle, single-spindle and secondary machines to produce complex parts ranging in diameter from .093" to 1.625" in quantities ranging from 5,000 to 5 million pieces.

Multispindle machines are very efficient in producing a wide range of turned parts requiring primarily cylindrical features. One part is produced with each cycle of the machine. So, work on the part can be divided into five, six, or sometimes eight stations. Multispindle machines excel in providing features with superb concentricity and surface finishes.

Each type of multispindle has its unique strengths, depending upon part material, size and complexity. Our machines range from Gildemeisters with bar feeders that run complex parts steadily all day long, to the workhorse Davenports and Acmes, to the solid New Britain that can stand up to heavy work on stainless steel. The range of machine types allows the selection of a machine whose advantages can be applied to your job.

Milled flats and polygons, tapped threads, formed threads, slots, cross-holes, stampings, and other secondary features often can be formed on the part in one operation.
