CEC, Manufacturers to Sign GA CATT Apprentices Monday

CEC will continue its existing partnerships with Winpak, E.G.O. North America, Yamaha, Grenzebach, Kason, Groov-Pin, Yokogawa and KCMA. Representatives from the Coweta manufacturers and CEC will participate in the ceremony.

Each of Coweta’s eight industry sponsors – Grenzebach, E.G.O. North America, Yamaha, Kason, Yokogawa, Winpak, KCMA Corporation and Groov-Pin – will train at least one industrial mechanics apprentice from the second class of 11 students.

The corporations taking part in the program are Grenzebach; E.G.O. North America; Yamaha; Kason; Yokogawa; Winpak; KCMA (Kawasaki); and Groov-Pin. The companies work in conjunction with the Coweta County School System and the technical college to ensure the curriculum is relevant to the employment needs facing each company.

URI Students Present Capstone Project with Groov-Pin

On May 8th, the three URI students presented the final design report on their Capstone project with Groov-Pin. Their project analyzed the forces, torque, and deformation caused through thread forming and failure using finite element analysis in a program called Abaqus.
