Groov-Pin Operations Manager Attends Apprenticeship Seminar
Groov-Pin’s operations manager, Scott Bunn, attended a 6-day “Train the Trainer” seminar in Atlanta, Georgia, as part of the Georgia Consortium for Advanced Technical Training (GA CATT) apprenticeship program.
GA CATT is a German-style apprenticeship program that Groov-Pin is involved with. Each participating company must have a mentor or trainer who is trained and certified by the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S., Inc. The mentor will aid the apprentice in learning all tasks that he or she is challenged with at the sponsor company.
The GA CATT program seeks to address the shortage of young people looking to enter careers in machining or manufacturing in the state of Georgia. Apprentices take lab and technical classes and have the opportunity to shadow administrative and technical mentors at their sponsor company.Author: Lauren Ciuba
